Our Learning Program

Meadow View Learning offers a comprehensive, mixed-age, Montessori-based Learning Program for ages 7–16 (grades 2–10, with grades 11 and 12 launching in 2026). We are a small, intentional program rooted in whole-child education and project-based learning.  Our program follows a small co-op model, where each family contributes just one hour per month—or an equivalent supply donation—to help keep our learning environment thriving.

Our older students focus on academic work and long-term projects while also serving as mentors to younger students. Each 3-year age group receives daily small group lessons across a variety of subjects, with many Language and Math lessons delivered one-on-one or in very small groups to meet individual needs.

The Montessori approach is at the heart of our program—encouraging a deep love of learning, offering challenge to gifted students, and providing supportive structure for those who need extra help. Every student follows a learning path tailored to their individual level, resulting in a truly customized educational experience.

Students engage in a rich variety of subjects including:
History (U.S. and World), Geography, Geometry, Mathematics, Language Arts, Physical and Life Sciences, Life Skills, the Arts, and more. Older students also explore unique electives such as photography, horticulture, home economics, career exploration, and additional hands-on experiences.

Our Gardening Program is an integral part of the student experience. Students actively participate in designing, planting, and maintaining their own themed garden plots in our on-site educational garden. Through this, they learn principles of botany, sustainability, and land stewardship—while also building responsibility, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving skills. Writing and scientific observation are integrated into this daily hands-on work, supporting both literacy and science instruction.

  • In addition to strong academics, our program also features:
  • Daily outdoor play and physical activity on our expansive 10-acre property
  • Monthly field trips and enrichment activities to extend learning beyond the classroom
  • A focus on virtues and character development in a faith-inspired, supportive community

Flexible enrollment: choose 4 or 5 days per week.

Classes are held on our beautiful 10-acre rural property in Western Lincoln, where learning is grounded in faith, nature, and community.

What is Montessori?

The Montessori approach is based on self-directed activity, collaborative play, and hands-on learning.

Based on the work of Maria Montessori, the approach involves these key aspects:

  • Mixed-age classroom
  • A prepared environment designed for maximum learning and exploration
  • Small group lessons using hand-on materials and a comprehensive curriculum

Why a mixed-age classroom?

When children of different ages are together in one room, the younger kids have the opportunity to learn from the older ones. Often kids learn best from one another, and when a 6-year-old watches an 8-year-old work, they quickly understand what is expected and what kind of work lies ahead in their future.

In this environment the older children have many opportunities to serve in leadership roles, cultivating skills that are critical as they become independent members of their communities.
